About
Carpet Diems is a local, family-owned company that has been providing the best possible flooring service to our trade partners and customers for more than two decades now. We are the proud recipients of both the 2019 and 2020 Best of State awards, and have partnered with many of the largest local and national home builders to become the fastest growing flooring company in Utah.
After already being in the flooring industry full time since 1984, owner Rob Gibbons opened Carpet Diem in 1998 with his wife Allison by his side. All 5 of their children now work within the company, along with 20+ additional employees and dozens of subcontractors.

According to feedback from national suppliers, Carpet Diem is currently the fastest growing flooring company in the state of Utah. We attribute much of this success to our “Builders Come First” mentality; we are in a constantly-evolving market, and we strive to stay ahead of the curve for the home builders that we service. We accomplish this by supplying them with custom tools and resources that no other flooring company has, and by offering them a level of service that they cannot get anywhere else. When new trade-partners come in to visit our store, they are always amazed at the simplicity, clarity and power that our system and tools offer them. We frequently hear comments like, “This is exactly what we have been needing and looking for!”
To earn this type of a response, we have fine-tuned every step of the process for our builders and their clients, all the way from the initial bid to completing the installation: we created a system to proactively address their pain points and reduce or eliminate the most common issues that come up along the way.

We make a concerted effort to improve the lives of our employees and to positively impact the communities that we live and work in. Here are some recent examples of our efforts:
Charitable Contributions
Environmentally-Sound Practice
When replacing existing carpet in a home we recycle the old carpet pad that we remove, and we also recycle the pad remnants (leftover scraps) from new installations. This practice keeps large masses of material out of the local landfills.
Beautification
In our own small way we help to beautify the local neighborhoods by assisting in both residential and commercial development; we provide high-quality, expertly-installed flooring for over 6000 homes each year.
Charitable Contributions
- We make an annual donation to the Festival of Trees
- We make an annual donation to the local high school sports teams
- We provide free rugs to local teachers for their class rooms
